TOP STONEMASON APPOINTS JOHNSON CONSTRUCTION TO BUILD NEW PRODUCTION CENTRE

One of the UK's most respected stonemasons has appointed Johnson Construction to create a new production facility at its East Yorkshire headquarters.

J. Rotherham is one of the oldest stone masons in the country and operates from a 17 acre manufacturing facility at Holme-upon-Spalding-Moor.

The business creates hand carved architectural masonry for the UK and international markets.

Its products also include fireplaces, bespoke kitchen worktops as well as marble bathrooms and natural stone flooring.

Johnson Construction was appointed to create a new production facility housed in a 1700sq metre single storey building. The building was constructed using a traditional steel frame on pad foundations and was fully cladded.

Johnson Construction also designed a bespoke internal drainage system to enable water used in the manufacturing process to be collected and recycled through a water treatment plant providing significant savings in water costs.
